Wills and Trusts
Wills and trusts are used for
various purposes but mainly to ensure an orderly transfer of your
property to others upon your death, to ensure continued property
management and creditor protection for the surviving family members,
to provide for charities, and to minimize taxes.
If you die without a will the laws
of Intestacy govern how your assets are distributed. As a part of
their life and death planning every person should have a will or
trust, health care directive and power of attorney. It is especially
important to provide for the care of minor children through
guardianship provisions in a will or a trust. Life changes such as
divorce, marriage, or the birth of a child also require modification
of current wills or trusts. Our attorneys are knowledgeable in
drafting the documents needed to protect your family and assets. |
