About
Cindy Perusse
I
am a wife, a mother and a businesswoman and I find joy in each of
those roles. Yes, joy even as a divorce attorney. These aspects of
my life help me to better understand and empathize with the
experiences of my clients who more often than not are struggling to
parent children, run businesses and somehow stay sane while their
marriage is dissolving.
I have been practicing over 15 years now and my motto in family law
is "choose your battles." Some things are worth standing your
ground, others are not. I don't want you to pay me your life savings
or your child's college fund to fight over the Plasma TV or the
golf clubs. I believe in preserving the dignity of your family.
A little about my education and background: After spending a year as
a law clerk for three trial court judges, I began my career by
opening my own law office. I built a thriving practice in the Twin
Cities. In 2002 I relocated to California and spent over two years
in San Francisco where I practiced law for a boutique family law
firm before returning to the Twin Cities. I am a member of both the
Minnesota and California Bar Associations, Family Law sections. I
have experience in all aspects of family law from the simple to the
complex, from mediated settlement to trials. I am admitted to
practice in Minnesota Federal District Court and the Minnesota and
California Supreme Courts.
In addition to my attorney licenses, I am a licensed Realtor® and a
member of the National Association of Realtors. I have found that
divorce clients often have issues or questions surrounding the sale,
purchase or ownership of their real property. We will prepare quit
claim deeds, summary real estate disposition judgments and
cancelation of purchase agreements if necessary to your case. We
also collaborate with a team of professional Realtors to help those
clients who want or need to sell or buy a home during or after the
divorce.
I received my Bachelors degree from UCLA in 1988 and my law degree
from Hamline University School of Law in 1994. In 2009 I
completed an advanced trial program through the ABA Family Law Trial
Advocacy Institute. |
